Note: Price Testing requires a theme check to ensure the price-changing logic works correctly. For this, we’ll need access to your store and will perform a one-time integration free of charge.

What is Price Testing?

Price testing lets you experiment with different prices for your products to discover what works best for your customers and your business. By running price tests, you gain insights into customer behavior, market trends, and the most effective pricing strategies to boost sales and revenue.

How Price Tests Work

Preparation

We use Duplicate Product, Cart Transform, and Checkout Script to set up price tests. (Note: This method will end in August 2026.)

Traffic Splitting

Store visitors are split between different price variations to ensure fair comparison.

You choose which products to include in the test and assign price variations.

Price Test Methods Explained

Duplicate Product

For each price variation, Eraya creates a duplicate of your original product with the test price. This allows different groups of customers to see and purchase the product at different prices, without affecting your main product listing.

This method duplicates entire products with test prices applied, creating two or more identical products with different prices in the store. Users in each test group are only shown the product relevant to their group. Note that this method requires additional setup before launching the test.

Cart Transform (Shopify Plus Exclusive)

With Shopify Plus, the cart transformation function dynamically adjusts prices when products are added to the cart. This method minimizes disruptions, avoids inventory tracking and theme configuration issues, and allows previews without impacting your live store.

This approach keeps your store running smoothly—no changes to inventory tracking or theme setup are needed. It also lets you preview price tests without affecting your live store or customer experience.

Checkout Script

At checkout, Eraya uses a script to confirm the test price is applied and to track which price variation the customer purchased. This ensures reliable data collection and a seamless checkout experience for all test groups.

Price Tests allow you to run A/B tests on product pricing to optimize revenue and conversion.
